Welcome!
We are a faith-community of
everyday people,
exploring, experiencing and sharing God's love within the vibrant
traditions of The
United Church
of Canada. We are led by our Minister,
Rev. Ian Smith and a very active Congregation, the "Ministers of
Action".

To find out more, we
invite you to come and take part in our Sunday Morning Worship service,
which starts at 10:30 am, except July and August when we meet at 9:30
am.
Our
pulpit is inscribed
with the letters VDMA.
Ever wondered what that means? It is an abbreviation of the Latin
phrase: verbum domini manet in aeternum, which
means: The
word of the Lord remains forever.
The
Nursery is
stocked with a variety of age
appropriate toys. Emilie is eager to meet the little ones and
watch over them during the
church service. The room is also equipped with
a loudspeaker, such that one can still follow the worship
service.
Sunday
School Classes
(for ages 5 and up) are
normally held in McNevan Hall following the
"Children's Time"
in the Sanctuary.
Please join us
for fellowship after the service!
We follow the lectionary
readings. Below is a
listing of lectionary readings for the church year.
Each reading also has a link to the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) and
the New International Version (NIV). The NRSV links point to the oremus Bible Browser
and the NIV links point to the Bible Gateway website.
Each day also has a VDL link to the Vanderbilt
Divinity Library, which shows
all the reading in the NRSV on one page. Note that the Bible Gateway website
also has the readings in audio and has many more different
Bible
translations, different English versions as well as versions in foreigh
languages. Detailed
scripture
study for each Sunday can be found here,
at Textweek. Sermon / lectionary resources can also be
found at Kir-Shalom,
or at The
United
Church
of Canada worship
planning and lectionary
sites. Links to various worship resources
for children and youth can be found here.
