In 1977, the Committee on Christian Faith of the United Church of Canada called for a careful liturgical ministry with the sick.

Symbols such as Prayer, Laying on of Hands, Touch, and Anointing with Oil are genuine instruments of healing that can open us to a power which medical science, by itself, does not possess. In practicing this healing, we are reclaiming the healing ministry Jesus taught his disciples.

HEALING PATHWAY training has been offered at the United Church of Canada's Naramata Centre in Naramata, British Columbia, and within congregations since 1993. This program has roots in - and is affiliated with - Healing Touch International, and Healing Touch techniques are similar to those used in Therapeutic Touch and adapted for this United Church program.

In February 2004, HEALING PATHWAY was officially recognized by the Official Board of Ste-Geneviève United Church as a ministry of the congregation.

HEALING PATHWAY is a way to convey God's highest good for the recipient.

As Trained Practitioners We Do Not Act On Our Own.
We Do Not Claim Any Credit For Healings In Which We Have A Part.
We Are Simply Conduits, Or Instruments, Through Which God's Grace Flows.

We firmly believe that God is the only One who can decide what God's energy will do – and where that energy will go – within your Mind, Body and Spirit in order to do the most good for you, the recipient.

God's Intention Is For Wholeness, Harmony, Balance And Health.

What Does “Healing” Mean?

"Healing" does not necessarily mean "curing". Healing is a process guided by God to restore balance and wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit, not only within the individual, but also within relationships, community and creation.

Do I Need To Feel “Unwell” Before Receiving A Treatment?

NO! You do not have to wait to feel “unwell” before receiving a HEALING PATHWAY treatment! Prevention is the key word here. If you join us once in a while, God's healing energy can help to maintain and strengthen your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

We will pray that God will answer any specific concerns you may have according to God's will for the highest good of your Mind, Body and Spirit!

What Can I Expect From A HEALING PATHWAY Session?

You can expect - in a safe environment - that you will be cared for, loved, connected and, sometimes, relieved from specific problems. You can expect to leave with an increased sense of well-being, feeling more balanced with more energy. As with anything worth doing, it is worth doing well. Even if you think that a HEALING PATHWAY session has benefited you, don't give up hope! Come back!

We believe that every human being, having been created in God's image, has been given gifts to be an instrument of God's healing power and presence. Jesus knew this and was a great teacher and healer. Although we, as HEALING PATHWAY practitioners, are far from Jesus’ level of spiritual awareness, we are journeying in faith to rediscover – and reclaim – our role as God's healing instruments in Jesus’ name. We have committed ourselves to keep working together to serve and help others.

Our HEALING PATHWAY Team?

The training of all our practitioners has been led by Certified Practitioners-Trainers from the Naramata Centre's HEALING PATHWAY program. Our practitioners have received Phase 1 and/or Phase 2 and/or Phase 3 Certificates, which permits us to offer this ministry under the HEALING PATHWAY name, logo, and methods at the level of each practitioner's respective training. Our team looks forward to additional training as it becomes available. We have weekly opportunities to practice and minister with the skills we have been taught. Although we are far from Jesus' level of spiritual awareness, we are committed to journeying in faith to rediscover and reclaim our role as God's healing instruments in Jesus' name, and to working together to serve others in this way.
